The Ferrari 250 GT SWB (Short Wheelbase), produced between 1959 and 1962, is one of the most iconic and beloved cars in the history of the Prancing Horse. Designed by Pininfarina and bodied by Scaglietti, this coupé combines elegance and performance in a rare balance, perfect for dominating both roads and racetracks.
At its heart is a 3.0-liter V12 engine designed by Gioachino Colombo, capable of producing up to 280 hp in the Competizione versions. Thanks to the short wheelbase (2400 mm), the car offered exceptional handling, making it a lethal weapon in GT racing.
It debuted at the 1959 Paris Motor Show and immediately stood out for its versatility: comfortable enough for daily use, yet aggressive enough for racing. It won numerous competitions, including the Tour de France Automobile and several races in the World Sportscar Championship.
About 165 units were built, in both Lusso (road) and Competizione (race) versions. Today, the 250 GT SWB is considered one of the most desirable Ferraris ever: rare, beautiful, and with a legendary racing pedigree. It is also one of the most expensive cars on the classic car market, often fetching sky-high prices at auction.
