The Lancia Fulvia Coupé HF 1.6 is one of the most iconic rally cars of the 1960s and ’70s, symbolizing Italian elegance combined with sporting performance. First introduced in 1965 as the sportier version of the Fulvia Coupé, the HF (“High Fidelity”) was developed by Lancia’s Racing Department to compete in international rallying.
The final and most powerful version, the 1.6 HF, was launched in 1969. It featured a 1,584 cc V4 engine, tilted 12°, producing up to 132 hp in racing trim. It was lightweight (around 850 kg) thanks to the use of aluminum and plexiglass, and it came with widened tracks, a sport-tuned suspension, and a limited-slip differential.
Its most glorious moment came in 1972, when the Fulvia HF 1.6 won the Monte Carlo Rally with Sandro Munari and Mario Mannucci, beating rivals like the Porsche 911 and Alpine-Renault A110. That victory played a key role in Lancia’s triumph in the International Championship for Manufacturers.
Elegant, agile, and tough, the Fulvia 1.6 HF perfectly blends refined engineering with a racing spirit. Today, it stands as a true rally legend and a highly sought-after collector’s car.
