TOP090 – Ford F150 Hoonitruck

Ken Block’s Hoonitruck is an extraordinary build that combines power, style, and advanced engineering, making it one of the most impressive Ford F-150s ever made.

Inspired by the truck his father owned in 1977, the project is a personal tribute and a high-performance machine destined to become a star in Block’s famous Gymkhana videos. The base vehicle is a 1977 F-150, radically modified and developed with the help of Detroit Speed, which created a modular chassis with an innovative clevis system for easy disassembly. This design allows for the quick replacement of any damaged sections, increasing the vehicle’s durability and functionality in extreme conditions. The body panels are made of military-grade aluminum, while the bumpers, front splitter, and other components are crafted from carbon fiber to reduce weight.

The engine is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, derived from the development program of the Le Mans-winning Ford GT, with an aluminum block and Garrett GTX3071R Gen II turbochargers that produce 917 horsepower and 702 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is a Sadev six-speed gearbox with all-wheel drive, providing incredible power and exceptional drivability. The setup is completed with a Wilwood braking system featuring six-piston calipers and 14-inch rotors, essential for stopping the vehicle after extreme stunts. Inside, despite the limited space, the original steel cab houses a carbon fiber dashboard with a Bosch Motorsports digital system, Hoonigan gauges by AutoMeter, and Recaro Profi SPA carbon fiber racing seats. The truck also features a backup camera and a trailer brake controller, as the Hoonitruck is equipped with a functional hitch, showcasing its versatility beyond performance. The Hoonitruck also garnered attention at the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon, winning the “Best Dressed” Truck/SUV award. With its combination of power, aesthetics, and ability to handle any type of pavement, the Hoonitruck is the perfect example of Block’s vision, destined to make an impact in the world of motorsport and beyond.
